Composite Filament Fabrication (CFF) is a 3D printing process that uses a standard thermoplastic filament, like nylon, reinforced with continuous fibers such as carbon fiber, Kevlar, or glass fiber. During printing, the machine extrudes both the base plastic and the reinforcing fiber, layer by layer, to create parts with enhanced strength and stiffness. This method produces components that combine the flexibility of plastics with the mechanical properties of composites, making them suitable for functional prototypes, tooling, and end-use parts that require high durability and lightweight performance.
