INNOVATE Centre Inuvik – Makerspace, Arts, Crafts & Digital Fabrication

The INNOVATE Centre for Arts, Crafts and Technology in Inuvik, Northwest Territories is a makerspace and creative production centre supporting artists, makers and entrepreneurs across the Western Arctic. Formerly known as the Arts, Crafts & Technology Micro-manufacturing Centre (ACTMC), the centre combines traditional arts and crafts with modern digital fabrication and manufacturing technologies.

INNOVATE provides access to modern equipment and practical training for designing, prototyping and producing creative products. Available technologies include 3D printing, laser engraving, woodworking and digital design, supported by software such as Adobe Illustrator and CAD tools.

The centre creates opportunities to combine traditional craftsmanship with new technologies. Artists and creative individuals can develop new techniques, experiment with materials and transform ideas into physical products while maintaining their own creative practices.

Supporting Creators in the Western Arctic

The INNOVATE Centre in Inuvik supports artists, makers and entrepreneurs from the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR) and Gwich’in Settlement Area (GSA). By providing access to equipment, training and production techniques, the centre helps participants develop skills, create products and explore opportunities for creative entrepreneurship in the Beaufort Delta region.
