Machines Room

Über mich

MACHINES ROOM was the first FabLab to open in London. Founded by Thomas Ermacora in early 2014 and situated in the heart of the Maker Mile (a thriving hub of art, design and creative technology) we are open to the public and businesses to come and fabricate their ideas. Our programme is oriented towards the Fab City vision and explores such concepts such as Redistributed Manufacturing, Open Making, Open Source, Sharing Economy & Circular Economy. We are also part of the British Council Maker Library Network and have hosted 12 Makers in Residence so far, who have experimented with processes and materials, creating exciting projects ranging from 3D-printed breathing heads to geodesic construction kits and mechanical techno machines. We particularly welcome Makers in Residence who are working on projects with social or environmental impact such as design for disability or using waste materials to create new products. We offer a range of services including: Access to digital fabrication tools Access to workshop tools Fabrication service Education through training, events and workshops Event space We are open for public tours at 1pm on Wednesdays
