Laurie Ramsell is a Fine Artist and Fellow at Birmingham Open Media.
His practice is concerned with human intervention in nature.
We live in human curated landscapes and digital spaces. How will we design our bodies to work in closer cooperation with our digital environments over the next century, what role can art and design play regarding tailored user experience in augmented realities, or bespoke commodities in prosthetics and fashion?
Ramsell works with emerging technologies, new materials and processes to try and understand the implications of such questions, and explore the ethical issues which arise when this questions our identity as a species, one responsible for our own evolution.
